"I am an everyday Mainer and an experienced businessman. I have lived on a personal budget for the last 25 years and know what it means when you can't buy something you want, what it means to have the discipline to tell myself no. As Governor, I will use this business and personal experience to carefully cut our state budget and lower taxes. I will also focus on finding the fraud in our state and holding people (no matter who they are) accountable for it, cutting regulations and red tape to lower the costs of doing business, thereby improving our economy and growing private sector jobs. Lastly, I will focus on education. We have fallen from the top of the nation in rankings, to the bottom. In my administration we will go back to focusing on the fundamentals of math, science and literacy with the sole purpose of preparing our young people for life after school!"
