The Maine Republican Party (Maine GOP)
The Maine Republican Party, also known as the Maine GOP, is the state affiliate of the Republican Party in Maine. Established in 1854, the Maine GOP works to advance conservative principles, support Republican candidates across the state—from local offices to statewide and federal races—and build a stronger Republican presence in all 16 counties.
Key roles of the Maine GOP include:
-
Organizing municipal caucuses, county committees, and the biennial State Convention, where delegates adopt the platform, elect leadership, and select national convention delegates.
-
Providing training, resources, and support to county committees (like the Androscoggin County Republican Committee) for grassroots organizing, voter outreach, and candidate recruitment.
-
Mobilizing voters, defending election integrity, and promoting policies focused on limited government, economic freedom, public safety, and Maine's unique way of life.
-
Upholding core Republican values: fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, strong communities, and opportunity for all Mainers.
The Maine GOP is currently led by Chair Jim Deyermond (elected January 2025).
As proud members of the Maine Republican family, the Androscoggin County Republican Committee partners closely with the state party and the national RNC to recruit, train, elect, and support candidates who share these values right here in our 14 municipalities.
Republicans work together – and win together!
The mission of the Androscoggin County Republican Committee is to recruit, train, elect, and support Republican candidates who will advance the values and interests of Androscoggin County residents.
