Lewiston, Maine – A Key Hub for Republican Growth in Androscoggin County

Lewiston, the second-largest city in Maine with a population of approximately 38,000 residents (2025 estimate), is a vibrant urban center in Androscoggin County. Divided into seven wards for local elections and representation, Lewiston features a rich history as a mill town, a diverse community, and growing opportunities for conservative voices on issues like public safety, education, economic development, and fiscal responsibility.

As one of the two cities in Androscoggin County, Lewiston plays a pivotal role in our committee's efforts. With an estimated 3,000–4,000 enrolled Republicans (based on county-wide trends and historical data), our bylaws allow for up to 5 associate members from Lewiston (cities over 20,000 population get up to 5 associates per Section 4). There is significant room to expand our team—whether through full elected members or associates—to better represent and mobilize Republican voters across all seven wards.

We need your help to strengthen our presence in Lewiston, home to key races like the recent special election in House District 94 and ongoing local school board and city council seats. Join us to recruit, train, elect, and support candidates who put Lewiston families first.

Get involved today:

  • Attend our monthly meetings to connect and contribute.

  • Volunteer for canvassing, events, or outreach in your ward.

  • Run for office – city council, school board, or state legislature.
