The Republican National Committee (RNC)
The Republican National Committee (RNC) is the national governing body of the Republican Party of the United States. Founded in 1856, the RNC works to promote Republican principles, support Republican candidates at all levels—from local offices to the Presidency—and coordinate the party's strategy, fundraising, and grassroots efforts nationwide.
Key roles of the RNC include:
-
Organizing the Republican National Convention every four years, where the presidential nominee is officially selected and the party platform is adopted.
-
Providing resources, training, and support to state and local committees (like the Androscoggin County Republican Committee) to build strong Republican organizations.
-
Mobilizing voters, conducting voter outreach, and defending Republican victories through legal and data-driven efforts.
-
Advancing core conservative values: limited government, individual liberty, free enterprise, strong national defense, and traditional American principles.
The RNC is currently led by Chair Joe Gruters and Co-Chair KC Crosbie.
